Isle of Man Post Office Customer Service Officer

Day-to-day Tasks

  • serving customers courteously and efficiently
  • selling of mail associated items such as stamps and including weighing of items to
  • recommend the best type of service for sending letters, packets and parcels up to 30kg
  • acceptance of third party bill payments
  • deal with the payment and issue of vehicle registrations and car tax discs
  • checking and acceptance of passport and driving licence applications
  • completion of admin tasks to acceptable level, following set procedures and rules

Skills required

  • good customer service skills, including clear verbal and written communications
  • the ability to work well with others
  • able to pay attention to detail
  • to be able to use a computer and the main software packages competently following
  • full training

Industry qualifications

You will need proven numeracy, literacy skills and customer service skills to apply for these roles.

You will be given full on the job training.

It must noted that sub post offices are run as agents for IOMPO and are often part of third party retail outlets that sell other goods and services. Each sub post office will have its own recruitment and selection methods.
