Isle of Man Post Office Person

A Post Person collects, sorts and delivers letters, packets and parcels up to 30kg in weight, to homes and businesses on the island.

Day-to-day Tasks:

  • sorting mail items for a specific route
  • loading and unloading of delivery vans
  • driving an IOMPO van to and from points of delivery
  • using a hand-held computer device to record customer signatures and or delivery actions
  • collecting mail items from post boxes, sub post offices and businesses

Skills and knowledge

  • good customer service skills, including clear verbal and written communications
  • able to pay attention to detail
  • the ability to work on your own
  • knowledge of English language
  • to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
  • be able to lift and carry items up to 30kg in weight
  • hold a full, clean driving licence (not on R plates)

This job is physically active and requires working outdoors in all weathers. Full training and a uniform will be provided, including full waterproofs and appropriate footwear.   

No industry qualifications are required for this role.
