Health Club General Assistant

Sports and leisure centre assistants look after equipment and help members of the public get the most out of their visit. Some help instructors to run sports or fitness courses.

Day-to-day Tasks

  • providing pool side supervision at all times
  • ensure cleanliness of all areas and equipment
  • provide a high level of customer care and be polite, friendly and welcoming
  • offering trained assistance to users in difficulty.
  • undertake water testing of the swimming pool

Industry Qualifications

When working as a health club assistant, each employer will provide full training on performing the role and what they expect. As with all leisure & hospitality roles, you can take this career worldwide as the essential prerequisites is experience. So once you have experience as a health club assistant, they are needed worldwide and even at sea on cruise ships!
