Visitor Services Assistant - MNH-024522

Job Purpose: Deliver an outstanding visitor experience at Manx National Heritage sites, welcoming visitors, promoting the Island’s heritage, supporting events and helping generate income through admissions, retail sales and donations.  

Duties
- Welcome visitors and provide a friendly, professional and engaging service.
- Help visitors enjoy and learn about Manx National Heritage sites and attractions.
- Process admissions, retail sales and donations using till systems.
- Promote products, services and membership opportunities.
- Support events, group visits and visitor activities.
- Operate tills and handle cash in line with procedures.
- Assist with retail displays and merchandising.
- Help maintain site security, cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Gather photos and videos for social media promotion where required.
- Assist with moving stock, equipment and other items around the site.
- Support visitors with enquiries and provide information about the Island’s heritage.
- Work flexibly across different Manx National Heritage sites when required.

Essential Skills
- Five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths.
- Recent experience in a customer-facing role.
- Experience of selling products, services or requesting donations.
- Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Experience working in a retail environment.
- Experience operating tills and handling cash.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, enthusiastic and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workloads.
- Physically able to carry out lifting, carrying and moving tasks.
- Full valid driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.

Desirable Skills
- Isle of Man Worker status.
