About the Role: A small, friendly kitchen installation business based in Onchan is looking for a reliable and hard-working Trainee Kitchen Fitter / Labourer to join on a part-time basis. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be learning directly from an experienced fitter, gaining practical skills in kitchen installation, general labouring, and working on-site in customers' homes.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys physical, hands-on work, is eager to learn a trade, and wants to build real-world experience in a growing industry.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assisting with kitchen installations in homes across the island
- Helping to dismantle and remove old kitchens and preparing the area for new fittings
- Carefully loading and unloading materials, tools, and units – both on-site and in/out of the van
- Making sure customers’ homes are treated with care – avoiding damage to walls, floors, and furniture
- Keeping the work area clean and tidy throughout the job
- Learning how to measure, cut, and fit kitchen units and worktops
- Following instructions and picking up practical, on-the-job skills
What We’re Looking For:
- A good attitude and willingness to learn – reliability is key
- Someone who is physically fit and happy to do manual work
- A practical person who enjoys hands-on work and problem-solving
- Punctual, respectful, and not glued to their phone during work hours
- Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly, especially in customers' homes
- No experience needed – full training will be given
- Someone who is currently learning / aiming to learn to drive
Other Details:
- If you don’t drive yet, pick-up from a designated point in Onchan can be arranged
- Hours and days to be agreed - but some flexibility may be required
- Potential to move to full-time work as experience builds
