Job Purpose: Support the Government’s telephony, mobile and network services by helping to maintain systems, mobile devices and related applications. You will provide technical support, manage equipment and records, and help deliver reliable communication services across Government departments.
Duties
- Provide technical support for telephony, mobile and network-related systems.
- Assist with the administration of systems including Cisco Call Manager, Microsoft Intune, Airwatch, Samsung Knox, Apple DEP, Softex and access control systems.
- Support mobile device setup, maintenance, replacement and disposal processes.
- Maintain accurate network, telephony and asset records.
- Assist with mobile billing administration and supplier liaison.
- Help manage secure storage areas and IT equipment inventory.
- Identify and escalate IT issues when required.
- Support Government-wide service desk enquiries and user requests.
- Assist with IT projects and service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure documentation and databases are kept accurate and up to date.
- Carry out additional tasks as requested by the line manager.
Essential Skills
- Relevant IT experience in an office or technology environment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and suggest improvements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of data protection and information security.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
- Full, valid driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (including English) or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience working with Cisco telephony products.
- Knowledge of Android and iOS mobile operating systems.
- Experience using Microsoft Intune, Airwatch or Bewator systems.
- Understanding of telephony applications such as Redbox, Soft Ex, GFI Faxmaker and ARC.
- Experience of asset management, stock control and record keeping.
- Knowledge of working within an IT department and supporting multiple stakeholders.
- Understanding of Isle of Man Government functions and IT environments.
- Security clearance eligibility.
