Job Purpose: Support the Food Technology department by getting everything ready for lessons, helping during classes, and keeping equipment and classrooms clean, safe and organised so students can learn effectively.
Duties
- Prepare classrooms, ingredients and equipment before lessons
- Clean equipment, resources and work areas after lessons
- Help teachers and students during practical food lessons
- Buy or organise ingredients and materials needed for lessons
- Keep kitchens and classrooms safe, tidy and hazard-free
- Manage and organise equipment and storage areas
- Support a positive and engaging learning environment
Essential Skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to stay organised and pay attention to detail
- Flexible and able to work under pressure
- Basic understanding of food hygiene (or willingness to learn)
- Able to work independently when needed
- Positive attitude and willingness to help
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
Desirable Skills
- Food Hygiene qualification (training can be provided)
- Experience working in a kitchen or catering environment
- Experience supporting small groups or working with young people
- First aid training
- Experience using technical equipment or supporting practical lessons
- Experience working in a school environment
