Job Purpose: Provide a high-quality service to students, their families and further/higher education institutions by processing Student Award applications and answering enquiries. You will help ensure applications, awards and student records are dealt with accurately and efficiently in line with Student Awards Regulations.  

Duties
- Process Student Award applications accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Enter and maintain student application and financial information.
- Check information including accounts, tax assessments and other supporting evidence.
- Follow up applications where additional information is required.
- Calculate Student Award payments and explain awards to students and parents.
- Process withdrawals and support the recovery of awards where required.
- Assist with student loan administration.
- Respond to enquiries from students, families, colleges and universities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.
- Attend education and employment events to provide information about Student Awards when required.
- Provide a professional customer service in person, by telephone and in writing.
- Produce statistics, workload reports and basic analysis.
- Help test updates to Student Awards computer systems.
- Support improvements to systems and working practices.
- Organise Student Awards Review Panel meetings and prepare appeal information.
- Monitor and respond to routine enquiries received through the Student Awards email inbox.
- Support records management, including digitising, transferring and securely destroying records.
- Provide general administrative, telephone, reception and postal support during busy periods.
- Maintain confidentiality when dealing with personal and financial information.

Desirable Skills
- Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English Language, or equivalent.
- Good numeracy skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to learn from mistakes and share learning with others.
- Willingness to support and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Ability to recognise and take pride in team achievements.
- Current driving licence.
- Isle of Man Worker status.

This is a limited term contract for 12 months.
