Job Purpose: To keep hospital staff accommodation clean, safe and well-maintained, making sure all areas meet high standards and are ready for use every day.
Duties
- Clean all areas of staff accommodation following set cleaning schedules
- Carry out spot cleaning and keep communal areas tidy
- Clean internal glass and shared spaces regularly
- Refill supplies such as soap, towels and toilet paper
- Help manage cleaning stock and supplies, using them carefully
- Follow all health & safety rules and infection control procedures
- Use and maintain cleaning equipment safely
- Report any faults, incidents or safety concerns quickly
- Work as part of a team and support other areas when needed
- Attend training and keep required training up to date
- Keep information confidential and respect privacy at all times
- Take part in checks to make sure cleaning standards stay high
Essential Skills
- Good level of English (written and spoken)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organisation skills
- Flexible and able to adapt to different tasks
- Able to work under pressure
- Understands confidentiality and data protection (GDPR)
- Friendly, respectful and reliable attitude
- Physically able to carry out cleaning tasks (including lifting and using equipment)
- Willing to complete training
- Satisfactory police check
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable skills
- Experience working in a hospital or similar environment
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience
- Isle of Man worker status
