Job Purpose: To deliver a friendly, high-quality retail and visitor experience at Manx National Heritage sites, helping visitors enjoy their visit while supporting the charity through sales, admissions and donations.  

The Duties  
- Provide excellent customer service to all visitors, including individuals and groups.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Manx National Heritage and promote its work.
- Maximise retail sales, ticket sales and donations to meet income targets.
- Operate tills and EPOS systems accurately, following cash handling and financial procedures.
- Support the day-to-day running of the museum shop, including opening and closing duties.
- Assist with online shop orders, including processing and dispatch.
- Maintain attractive product displays and visual merchandising.
- Upsell products and services using good product knowledge.
- Help ensure site security, visitor safety, cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Support events, group visits and seasonal opening and closing of sites.
- Work flexibly across different Manx National Heritage sites when required.
- Take responsibility for personal training, development, health and safety.

Essential Skills
- Experience in a customer-facing or retail role.
- Experience using EPOS/till systems and handling cash.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic IT skills with ability to learn new systems.
- Physically able to carry out a practical role, including lifting and being on your feet most of the day.
- Friendly, positive and professional attitude.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.

Desirable Skills
- Experience of online retail or stock management systems.
- Experience of selling, upselling or asking for donations.
- Interest in Manx history and heritage.
- Experience following cash handling or financial procedures.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
