Job Purpose: To be the first point of contact for students, staff, parents and visitors, providing a friendly and professional reception service while supporting the smooth running of the school office.  

Duties  
- Welcome visitors and make sure they follow school procedures and safeguarding rules  
- Answer and direct phone calls and respond to general enquiries
- Support students at reception and provide guidance when needed
- Sign students in and out using school systems
- Communicate with parents/carers, including contacting them when students are unwell
- Manage messages and pass on information to staff and students
- Help organise careers appointments and meetings
- Produce student smartcards and assist with uniform/stationery sales
- Provide student information to staff when required
- Assist with attendance processes and prepare data for meetings
- Carry out general admin tasks to support a busy office
- Provide basic first aid when required (training provided)
- Follow school policies including safeguarding, health & safety and data protection
- Support wider school activities such as events or mentoring where needed

Essential Skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Friendly, approachable and professional manner
- Ability to work well with both young people and adults
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and stay calm
- IT skills including Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Discretion and confidentiality at all times
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

Desirable Skills
- Experience working in a school or busy office environment
- Understanding of school systems or policies
- First Aid qualification
- Experience using school software (training provided)

£25,784 - £31,340 pro rata per annum
