Holmes & Davidson is not a typical opticians. We are a high-end, independent practice built on precision, clinical excellence, and an uncompromising standard of finish.
We are looking for an Optical Lab Technician—but more specifically, someone who takes genuine pride in producing work that others would consider “finished” long before you do.
This is a hands-on role within our in-practice lab, responsible for the final outcome of every pair of glasses we dispense. Nothing leaves the lab unless it meets a standard that most practices simply wouldn’t notice—let alone achieve.
You will be glazing and finishing lenses, preparing and adjusting frames, and carrying out meticulous quality control on all completed eyewear. You will work closely with the dispensing team, ensuring that what is promised to the client is delivered flawlessly in reality. Attention to detail is not a preference in this role—it is the standard.
We are open to candidates who have previously worked in an opticians, whether as a lab technician, optical assistant, or dispensing assistant. Experience is important, but mindset is critical. This role suits someone who notices the smallest inconsistencies, takes ownership of their work, and is not comfortable letting anything leave their bench unless it is right.
You should be methodical, reliable, and calm under pressure, with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in high-quality eyewear. If you are someone who values doing things properly over doing them quickly, you will fit well here.
In return, you will be working within a respected, high-performance independent practice, handling premium eyewear and developing advanced technical skills in an environment where quality is genuinely valued—not just spoken about.
We offer a competitive salary dependent on experience, a full-time position, and ongoing development for the right individual. To apply, send your CV and a short introduction using the APPLY NOW button below.
If you are looking for a role where standards are high, expectations are clear, and the quality of your work truly matters, we would like to hear from you.
