Job Purpose: Support people staying in a probation hostel to help them move towards a stable, independent, and crime-free life, while keeping the community safe. You will work as part of a small team, building positive relationships with residents and helping them access housing, services, and opportunities.  

Duties  
- Support residents with housing, employment, and accessing community services.
- Build positive, professional relationships while keeping clear boundaries.
- Create and update support plans and risk assessments for each resident.
- Keep accurate records using case management systems.
- Encourage residents to attend appointments (e.g. Job Centre, GP).
- Prepare rooms and support new residents moving into the hostel.
- Respond to resident questions and day-to-day needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment.
- Follow health & safety procedures and report incidents.
- Work as part of a team, including shift handovers and meetings.
- Support audits and follow policies, procedures, and legal standards.
- Take part in training and personal development.
- Work shifts including nights and weekends on a rota.

Essential Skills
- Interest in rehabilitation and the criminal justice system.
- Passion for supporting vulnerable people and offenders.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Organised and able to prioritise workload.
- IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and learning new systems).
- Strong teamwork and a positive, “can do” attitude.
- Good listening skills and empathy.
- Ability to keep accurate records and reports.
- Willingness to follow safeguarding and safety procedures.
- Satisfactory police check required.

Desirable skills
- Experience in housing, homelessness, mental health, or offender support.
- Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Experience working with vulnerable or socially excluded people.
- Experience building relationships with services or organisations.
- Full driving licence.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
