Job Purpose: Coordinate non-emergency patient transport from the control centre at Noble’s Hospital, helping patients travel to appointments and arranging hospital discharges and transfers.   

Duties:  
- Plan patient journeys and allocate staff and vehicles.
- Take bookings by telephone and electronically, recording patient and journey details accurately.
- Communicate with patients, relatives, healthcare professionals and transport staff.
- Use telephone, radio and computer booking and dispatch systems.
- Monitor journeys and respond to changes, delays and staffing issues.
- Handle enquiries calmly and respectfully, referring concerns to a manager when needed.
- Complete general administration, report IT problems and attend relevant training.

Essential Skills:
- Experience using Microsoft packages and advanced keyboard skills.
- Customer care experience and the ability to help people by telephone and through digital platforms.
- Experience working in a team and coordinating the work of others.
- Excellent organisation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Clear spoken and written communication.
- A caring, tactful approach, including when helping distressed callers or people with communication difficulties.
- Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to patient wellbeing, quality service and confidentiality.
- A satisfactory police check.

Desirable Skills:
- At least five GCSEs at grades A–C / 7–4, including English, or equivalent.
- Ability to use a two-way radio.
- Experience working in a control centre or similar environment.
- Experience working under pressure.
- Experience in health or social care.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
