Job Purpose: Help individuals, employers and self-employed people understand their National Insurance responsibilities. Process applications, calculate contributions and maintain accurate records, with training to develop your specialist knowledge.
Duties:
- Answer customer enquiries in person, by telephone and in writing.
- Calculate National Insurance contributions, identify overpayments and arrange refunds.
- Process applications for National Insurance numbers, contribution exceptions and the National Insurance Holiday Scheme.
- Update customer records, allocate payments and follow up outstanding contributions.
- Calculate State Pension forecasts and assess contribution records for pension and bereavement entitlements.
- Support colleagues, promote online services and suggest improvements to working processes.

Desirable Skills:
- Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including English Language, or equivalent.
- Administrative experience in a finance-related organisation working with customers.
- Experience answering customer enquiries.
- Knowledge of Manx Income Tax and National Insurance.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
