Job Purpose: Support students during lunchtime in the Specialist Provision Centre, helping to keep them safe, happy and supported throughout the lunch period. You will encourage positive behaviour, help with activities and build good relationships with students. Some learners may need one-to-one support or help with personal care.   

Duties   
- Supervise students during lunchtime in the dining room, playground and school areas.
- Help students wash hands, use the toilet and stay clean and tidy before returning to class.
- Support students with eating meals, opening packets and using cutlery where needed.
- Encourage positive behaviour, good manners and safe play.
- Support students with activities and lunchtime programmes.
- Work closely with the SPC team and teaching staff.
- Follow individual behaviour plans and risk assessments where required.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene and toileting where needed.
- Attend to minor injuries and report accidents appropriately.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Attend training and meetings when required.
- Keep student information confidential.

Essential Skills  
- Experience working with or caring for children or young people.
- Willingness to support students with additional needs.
- Friendly, approachable and caring attitude.
- Able to work well as part of a team.
- Calm, patient and understanding nature.
- Good common sense and reliability.
- Able to maintain confidentiality.
- Able to meet the agreed working hours.

Desirable Skills  
- Experience in youth groups such as Scouts, Brownies or similar activities.
- First Aid training.
- Knowledge of supporting learners with additional needs.
