Job Purpose: Support pupils in the Specialist Provision Centre during lunchtime, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and enjoyment while encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social interaction.  

Duties  
- Supervise and support pupils during lunchtime, both indoors and outdoors.
- Help pupils with meals, including opening food, cutting food and supporting individual feeding programmes where required.
- Encourage positive behaviour, good manners and social interaction.
- Support play activities and help build positive relationships with pupils.
- Assist with personal care needs, including toileting, changing and hygiene support where required.
- Follow individual support programmes and use specialist equipment when necessary.
- Monitor pupils' wellbeing and report any concerns to the Specialist Provision Centre Manager.
- Provide basic first aid and record accidents or incidents as required.
- Work closely with colleagues to maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
- Attend relevant training and meetings when required.

- Willingness to support children with special educational needs, both individually and in groups.
- Ability to assist with personal care, feeding and hygiene support.
- Team player with a positive and supportive approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
- Calm, approachable and caring manner.
- Good communication skills.
- Common sense and ability to use initiative.
- Willingness to undertake training and develop new skills.
- Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality.

Desirable Skills
- Experience working with or caring for primary or secondary school-aged children.
- Enthusiasm, energy and optimism.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
- Experience of voluntary youth work such as Brownies, Scouts or similar organisations.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
