Job Purpose: To support pupils during the lunchtime period by supervising them in the dining hall and playground, helping them stay safe, enjoy their break and build positive behaviour and social skills. The role helps create a friendly school environment where children can relax, play and return to class ready to learn.
Duties
- Supervise pupils during lunch in the dining hall and playground.
- Encourage good manners and positive behaviour.
- Help pupils eat their lunch and enjoy their break safely.
- Promote safe, creative and positive play in the playground.
- Deal with minor incidents and provide basic first aid if needed.
- Act as a point of contact between pupils and teaching staff.
- Work closely with teachers and other school staff.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues and pupils.
Essential Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and caring attitude when working with children.
- Ability to encourage play and positive behaviour.
- Teamwork and willingness to support colleagues.
- Reliable and responsible approach to keeping pupils safe.
- No formal qualifications or previous experience required.
Desirable Skills
- Interest in working in a school or education environment.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
- Confidence supervising groups of children.
