Job Purpose: To supervise pupils during the lunchtime period in the dining hall and playground, helping to create a safe, friendly and positive environment where children can enjoy their lunch break and play safely. This role supports the school’s aim of helping young people stay healthy, feel safe and develop positive relationships.  

Duties
- Supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground during lunchtime.
- Encourage children to eat their lunch and enjoy their break safely.
- Promote safe, positive and creative play during outdoor activities.
- Support pupils in using good manners and respectful behaviour.
- Act as a link between pupils and teaching staff if issues arise.
- Deal with minor incidents and provide basic first aid if needed.
- Work closely with teachers and school staff as part of the wider team.
- Help maintain a safe, friendly and supportive school environment.

Essential Skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, caring and patient approach with children.
- Ability to encourage positive play and behaviour.
- Reliable and able to work well as part of a team.
- Awareness of child safety and wellbeing.

Desirable Skills
- Experience working with children or in a school environment.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
- Understanding of playground activities that support positive play.
