Lunchtime Assistant - Ballaugh Primary School - DOES-024046

Job Purpose: Help create a safe, friendly and positive lunchtime environment for primary school pupils by supervising them in the dining hall and playground, supporting good behaviour, and helping them enjoy their break safely.  

Duties  
- Supervise pupils during lunchtime in the dining hall and playground.
- Encourage pupils to eat their lunch and enjoy their break safely.
- Promote safe, creative and positive play activities.
- Encourage good manners and positive behaviour.
- Support pupils and help resolve minor incidents or concerns.
- Provide basic first aid when required.
- Act as a link between pupils and teaching staff.
- Work closely with school staff to support a positive lunchtime experience.
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues.

Essential Skills
- Friendly, caring and approachable nature when working with children.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to encourage positive play and behaviour.
- Willingness to work as part of a team.
- Understanding of the importance of keeping children safe and supported.
- Ability to report concerns about pupils to teaching staff when needed.
- Professional attitude and ability to keep pupil information confidential.

Desirable skills
- Interest in working with children in a school environment.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
- Experience supporting children or young people (not essential).

£24,556 to £27,075 Pro Rata Per Annum
