Overview: Support the safe and efficient daily running of the National Sports Centre (NSC). Supervise facilities, assist users, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise public in wet, dry, and outdoor sports areas
- Provide excellent customer service and handle minor complaints
- Help set up and oversee events and activities
- Ensure cleanliness of the centre and equipment
- Carry out water testing and basic maintenance tasks
- Monitor safety, security, and emergency procedures
- Complete routine admin tasks (e.g., forms, reports)
- Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures
- Attend training and keep qualifications up to date
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Valid National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or ability to obtain and maintain it
- Friendly, approachable, and confident when dealing with the public
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Physically fit and able to meet lifeguard standards
- Willing to work flexible hours, including cover at other facilities
- Satisfactory enhanced police check
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a sports or leisure facility
- Familiarity with basic admin tasks (e.g., incident forms)
- Isle of Man Worker status
- Willingness to work at outdoor or regional sites (e.g., Glencutchery Pool)
