Job Purpose: To provide a reliable laundry and linen service, ensuring clean, safe and serviceable linen and uniforms are supplied to Noble’s Hospital and other service users.
The Duties
- Sort, classify and process used linen safely, following infection control procedures.
- Operate industrial laundry equipment including washers, dryers, ironers and finishing machines.
- Load, unload, fold, iron and finish linen and garments to required standards.
- Prepare, pack and despatch clean linen and uniforms accurately.
- Deliver and collect linen within the hospital and, where required, off-site locations.
- Carry out daily linen checks, stock counts and maintain agreed quotas.
- Use basic computer systems to record data and maintain accurate records.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow health and safety procedures.
- Work flexibly, including additional hours when required to meet service needs.
Essential Skills
- Willingness to learn and undertake all required training.
- Ability to follow instructions and work to set procedures.
- Experience of working in an industrial or practical environment.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues.
- Basic numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
- Physical ability to carry out manual handling and repetitive tasks safely.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in laundry, healthcare or similar operational settings.
- Full driving licence for delivery duties.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
