Job Purpose: Provide administrative support to the Information Governance Team, helping to ensure Manx Care meets its legal responsibilities for data protection, confidentiality and information governance. You will support the handling of sensitive information requests while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of confidentiality.
Duties
- Act as the first point of contact for Information Governance enquiries.
- Assist with processing Subject Access Requests, Freedom of Information requests and Access to Health Records requests.
- Process information requests, applying appropriate redactions and exemptions where required.
- Record, monitor and respond to data breaches and data protection enquiries.
- Liaise with applicants to obtain additional information and explain request processes.
- Support colleagues with data breach investigations and compliance activities.
- Monitor statutory deadlines and alert senior staff to any potential breaches.
- Assist with data protection audits and quality assurance checks.
- Research information and prepare draft documents and reports.
- Produce statistical information and management reports.
- Maintain work logs and records to ensure deadlines are met.
- Respond to enquiries from the public, healthcare professionals and other organisations.
- Provide administrative and secretarial support, including word processing, photocopying and correspondence.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive and personal information.
- Undertake training and self-study to develop knowledge of Data Protection, GDPR, Freedom of Information and Information Governance.
- Follow information governance, confidentiality, data protection and organisational policies at all times.
Essential Skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT systems.

Desirable Skills
- Minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English.
- Experience providing information and advice to a range of people.
- Experience or understanding of Information Governance.
- Experience providing advice within a statutory or regulated environment.
- Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience developing or reviewing administrative processes.
- Experience working in a busy office environment.
- Knowledge of Data Protection, GDPR, Freedom of Information, Common Law of Confidentiality and Caldicott Principles.
- Ability to produce and present statistical information.
- Full, valid driving licence.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
