Job Purpose: Deliver excellent customer service while supporting the fair and efficient administration of Income Tax and National Insurance. You will assess tax information, manage client casework and provide guidance to individuals and their agents, helping ensure tax liabilities and refunds are calculated accurately.
Duties
- Calculate income tax assessments and coding notices accurately and in line with current legislation.
- Manage a caseload of clients, progressing enquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
- Review financial information and accounts to determine taxable income and allowable deductions.
- Respond to customer enquiries by telephone, email and at the public counter.
- Support customers in completing Income Tax returns and understanding their tax obligations.
- Promote and assist with the use of online tax services and digital accounts.
- Process Income Tax forms and maintain accurate client records on internal systems.
- Develop knowledge of Income Tax and National Insurance legislation and keep up to date with changes.
- Work closely with colleagues to achieve team objectives and provide excellent customer service.
- Participate in training and professional development to build technical knowledge and skills.
- Carry out additional duties as required to support the Income Tax Division.

Desirable Skills
- Five GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including English Language or equivalent.
- Experience in an administrative role within a finance or customer-focused environment.
- Experience dealing with customer enquiries.
- Knowledge of Manx Income Tax and National Insurance.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
