Job Purpose: To support the Income Tax team by helping process tax returns, manage records, and provide helpful customer service to a wide range of people and organisations. You’ll play an important role in keeping information accurate and supporting day-to-day operations.
Duties
- Input and process data from tax return forms accurately and efficiently
- Log and sort incoming post and emails, sending them to the right team
- Respond to basic customer queries via phone, email, or in person
- Maintain and update records, including correcting address details
- Prepare and send letters and documents such as tax confirmations and copies of records
- Support the general enquiries inbox and redirect queries where needed
- Help process income verification requests for external organisations
- Assist with pension-related letters and other bulk communications
- Request missing information to help complete tax return processing
- Work flexibly across tasks to support the team during busy periods
- Follow confidentiality rules and handle sensitive information carefully
Essential Skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy with numbers
- Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Strong organisation skills and ability to manage different tasks
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Friendly and helpful communication style with good customer service skills
- Able to work independently when needed
- Reliable, motivated, and positive attitude
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities
Desirable skills
- Previous experience working in an office environment
- Experience working as part of a team and using your own initiative
- Familiarity with office equipment like printers and scanners
- Isle of Man Worker status
