Job Purpose:  To provide a high standard of cleanliness, housekeeping and support within the Resource Centre, ensuring residents enjoy a safe, hygienic and comfortable living environment.  

Duties:  
- Follow instructions from senior staff and maintain high cleaning standards throughout the building
- Ensure infection control procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with serving meals, supporting residents at mealtimes, clearing tables and general kitchen duties
- Carry out kitchen and dining room tasks including washing up and loading/unloading dishwashers
- Support with laundry duties as required
- Safely store and use cleaning materials in line with COSHH regulations
- Complete all required checklists and records
- Help provide drinks and snacks for residents throughout the day and night
- Maintain accurate records in line with policy and legislation
- Submit timesheets, expenses and other required paperwork
- Attend training, supervision, appraisals and team meetings
- Follow all policies, procedures, health and safety requirements and use PPE appropriately
- Promote dignity, respect, choice and positive relationships with residents at all times

Essential Skills:  
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Good IT skills (Word, Outlook, Android)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Honesty, reliability and a professional attitude
- Motivation and a person-centred approach
- Ability to appreciate individual needs of residents
- Ability to work varied hours, including unsociable hours
- Physically able to meet the role’s demands
- Willingness to complete mandatory training

Desirable Skills: 
- First Aid certificate
- Moving and handling training
- Experience working with vulnerable or older people
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Positive attitude to change
- Ability to communicate effectively with families and professionals
- Isle of Man Worker status
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (not required for home-based staff)
