Job Purpose: Support nurses and healthcare professionals in providing high-quality care to patients in the Coronary Care Unit. Assist with daily living activities, basic clinical tasks, patient comfort, and maintaining a safe and caring environment while working as part of a healthcare team.  

Duties  
- Assist patients with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and eating.
- Support patients with mobility, moving and handling using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Monitor and record basic observations such as temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen levels.
- Measure and record fluid intake and output, reporting any concerns to nursing staff.
- Collect and test urine samples and report findings as required.
- Assist with wound care, simple dressings, and application of non-prescription creams following training.
- Carry out weight, height, BMI, and nutritional assessments after appropriate training.
- Escort patients safely to appointments and other hospital departments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and report relevant information to registered nurses.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked ward environment.
- Support patients and families with emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Follow infection prevention, health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
- Participate in training, team meetings, audits, and quality improvement activities.
- Help orientate and support new Healthcare Assistants when required.

Desirable Skills
- NVQ Level II in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience caring for sick or vulnerable people.
- Basic IT skills.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
