Job Purpose: To support qualified therapists by helping patients with rehabilitation and physical recovery, while also providing admin and practical support to keep the therapy service running smoothly.  

Duties  
- Support physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other therapy staff with patient treatment plans
- Manage and prioritise your own delegated caseload within agreed guidelines
- Deliver therapy programmes to patients with physical or neurological conditions
- Issue and demonstrate safe use of equipment such as walking aids and joint supports
- Assess basic equipment needs and ensure items are safe to use
- Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records in line with policy
- Order, check, store and distribute therapy equipment and supplies
- Clean and safety-check returned equipment before reissuing
- Support the smooth running of the therapy department with daily admin tasks
- Communicate clearly with patients, carers and colleagues about treatment plans
- Provide reassurance and encouragement to patients during rehabilitation
- Support and help induct new team members
- Follow health & safety, infection control, safeguarding and confidentiality policies at all times
- Take part in training, supervision and service improvement activities

Essential Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it), or equivalent experience
- Good communication skills – written and verbal
- Ability to organise and prioritise your own workload
- Confidence to work independently within agreed guidelines
- Understanding of the role of therapists and rehabilitation work
- Ability to recognise when to seek advice or escalate concerns
- Basic IT skills
- Enthusiastic and motivated approach
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable Skills
- GCSE level education (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with patients in healthcare or rehabilitation
- Experience working as part of a team
- Isle of Man worker status
