Job Purpose: Provide administrative and coordination support to the Fire Prevention Team within the Isle of Man Fire & Rescue Service. You will help organise community safety activities, support public engagement projects, maintain records and statistics, and assist with promoting fire safety information through social media and events.
Duties
- Support the Fire Prevention Team with administration for community safety projects and campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records, statistics and risk-related data.
- Act as a point of contact for internal teams, partner organisations and members of the public.
- Help organise community events, fire safety sessions and educational activities for schools and youth groups.
- Book appointments and coordinate schedules for Fire Prevention staff and crews.
- Provide advice and information on Community Fire Prevention queries in person and over the phone.
- Support public engagement events and help create educational and safety resources.
- Manage and update social media content and help maintain the Fire Service website.
- Attend meetings, take notes and provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Carry out general office duties including typing, word processing and record management.
- Assist with training and professional development activities when required.
- Provide support and cover for other administration team members when needed.
Essential Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and computer systems.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and manage changing priorities.
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Self-motivated and willing to improve ways of working.
- Full valid driving licence.
- Satisfactory police check required.
Desirable Skills
- GCSEs including English Language or equivalent qualifications.
- Previous office administration experience.
- Experience working in a customer service environment.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
