Job Purpose: Provide financial and administrative support to Government departments as part of Treasury’s Financial Advisory Service. You will help maintain accurate financial information, support budget monitoring and provide useful financial information to colleagues and customers.  

Duties  
- Support budget holders with monitoring budgets and expenditure.
- Assist with monthly management accounts, accruals and journals.
- Carry out basic account and payroll reconciliations.
- Support reviews of cost centre and budget performance.
- Process financial transactions and budget journals accurately.
- Provide advice on transaction coding and respond to general financial queries.
- Maintain financial information in systems, databases and spreadsheets.
- Liaise with Finance Shared Services to support the processing and monitoring of transactions.
- Help administer purchase cards and support users.
- Process foreign payment requests when required.
- Maintain financial records and ensure information is kept confidential and secure.
- Monitor Financial Advisory Service mailboxes.
- Help administer financial assistance schemes, funds and applications.
- Process payments and respond to customer or supplier queries.
- Contribute to management information, statistics and financial analysis.
- Design and maintain spreadsheets using financial calculations.
- Support service improvement projects and new procedures.
- Ensure financial processes are completed in line with Financial Regulations.

Essential Skills
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, as well as Word and PowerPoint.
- Good numeracy and analytical skills.
- Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with people at all levels and a wide range of customers.
- Ability to build supportive working relationships.

- Relevant experience working in an office environment.
