Want to help build a 100-acre farm from scratch — and have a real say in how it’s run?   

We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on farm hand or smallholding manager — this could be an ideal opportunity for a Young Farmer looking to step up — to play a key role in restoring and developing a 100-acre farm on the Isle of Man, while also being part of a brand-new YouTube series documenting the journey.   

This is a rare chance to get involved from the ground up, helping bring land back into use and shaping what the farm becomes over time. This role would particularly suit someone who wants to move beyond routine farm work and have a real say in how a farm is developed and run.   

🚜 About the Project   
A 100-acre farm is being brought back to life after a period of neglect. The land, fencing, and outbuildings all require significant work to restore them. Plans include refurbishment of existing outbuildings and potential new building and yard layout design.

This is a family-led venture with strong support. A young family member with a joinery background will focus on infrastructure while learning farming alongside you.

The farming direction is still to be defined — and will be shaped with your input.

🌾 The Role
This is a hands-on, practical role first, with the opportunity to shape the farm long-term.

Your initial focus will be:
• Reinstating fencing, boundaries, and field systems
• Bringing land back into workable condition
• Supporting yard layout and infrastructure
• Advising on outbuildings and setup
• Operating tractors and machinery

As the project develops:
• Advising on farm direction and land use
• Helping decide livestock and stocking
• Supporting livestock introduction and management
• Developing sustainable farm plans
• Providing ongoing guidance

🐑 Livestock & Farm Direction
The long-term farming approach has not yet been set. We’re looking for someone with strong livestock and farming knowledge to help guide decisions and shape the future of the farm.

🎬 The Opportunity
The journey will be documented through a professionally supported YouTube channel. You’ll be part of that story — working alongside a production team.
