Job Purpose: Support the day-to-day running of Kensington Arts by helping to keep the building clean, safe and well maintained. You will work as part of the operations team to make sure visitors, staff and performers have a welcoming environment throughout the year. The role also includes supporting health and safety checks, minor repairs and general site security.  

Duties  
- Carry out cleaning duties across the site including sweeping, vacuuming, polishing, dusting and window cleaning.
- Clean toilets and refill toiletries when needed.
- Remove litter and recycling from indoor and outdoor areas.
- Use cleaning equipment safely, including floor scrubbers and vacuum cleaners.
- Report maintenance faults and defects.
- Help with minor repairs, decorating and maintenance tasks around the building.
- Support with furniture repairs, replacing lamps and general upkeep of the site.
- Carry out health and safety checks including fire alarms, lighting and water monitoring.
- Follow health and safety and COSHH procedures at all times.
- Help monitor site security and CCTV systems.
- Order cleaning supplies and monitor stock levels.
- Assist contractors and visitors on site when maintenance work is taking place.
- Maintain records and complete basic paperwork using IT systems such as Microsoft Excel.
- Occasionally act as Duty Manager, including some evenings and weekends.
- Work positively with staff, visitors, tenants and the public.

Essential Skills
- Previous experience in a maintenance, caretaking or facilities role.
- Awareness of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to organise tasks, materials and paperwork.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Reliable, flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Able to complete physical tasks including lifting, carrying, walking and cleaning duties.
- Full valid driving licence.
- Willing to work towards qualifications such as IOSH, COSHH or Working at Height.
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
- Satisfactory Police Check required.

Desirable Skills
- GCSEs including Maths and English.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience completing minor repair or labouring tasks.
- Experience working with musical equipment.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
