Experienced Front of House Assistant – Award-Winning Plant-Based Restaurant

Vibe Plant Based Cafe & Restaurant is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and hospitality-driven Front of House Assistant to join our small, close-knit team.  

We’re an award-winning, independent restaurant in the heart of Douglas, passionate about great food, genuine connections and creating memorable experiences for everyone who walks through our door.  

About you
We’re looking for a natural host who genuinely loves people and takes pride in looking after them. You’ll bring:
- A great personality and strong hospitality experience.
- The confidence to manage a restaurant floor, making every customer feel welcome, valued and cared for.
- The ability to multitask, use your initiative and maintain excellent attention to detail.
- The skills to work efficiently, prioritise tasks and keep everything running smoothly.
- An understanding of when to step away from the jobs list and give customers the time and attention they deserve.
- This is a varied, hands-on role in a small team. Everyone mucks in, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in every aspect of their work. Creativity, initiative and a good eye for detail are a real bonus.

Your responsibilities
- Setting up the restaurant.
- Stocking fridges and workstations.
- Taking orders and payments.
- Serving customers.
- Managing reservations and answering the telephone.
- Preparing quality barista coffees, fresh juices, smoothies and other drinks.
- Confidently recommending menu items.
- Helping create a beautiful atmosphere.
- Keeping the restaurant clean and tidy, including staying on top of the daily front-of-house washing up.

Hours and availability: 

We’re recruiting for Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with:
Daytime shifts: Starting at 11:30am and finishing between 3:00pm and 3:30pm.
Evening shifts: Starting at 5:15pm until the end of service.

We’re happy to consider separate candidates for daytime and evening shifts, or one person looking for a combination of shifts.

The position is available immediately.

Minimum age: 18. Previous hospitality experience is essential.
