Job Purpose: To support pupils in school, including those with additional needs, helping them learn, develop confidence, and feel included in all activities. You’ll work closely with teachers to support learning, behaviour, and wellbeing every day.  

Duties  
- Support pupils in class and around school, making sure they are safe and engaged in learning
- Help deliver learning activities and support lesson plans set by the teacher
- Work with individuals or small groups to support progress (e.g. reading, phonics, numeracy)
- Support pupils with additional needs, including emotional, behavioural, or learning needs
- Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour
- Help manage behaviour and resolve minor issues in line with school policies
- Support the use of ICT and learning resources in lessons
- Assist with classroom organisation, displays, and resources
- Support pupils during break times, trips, and outdoor learning
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times

Essential Skills
- GCSE Maths & English (Level 2 or equivalent)
- Good understanding of how children learn and develop
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and adults
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and school policies
- Ability to support pupils with different learning needs
- Organised, reliable, and able to follow instructions
- Calm, patient, and approachable attitude

Desirable Skills
- Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification (or similar)
- First Aid training
- Experience working with children or young people
- Knowledge of SEN support programmes (e.g. phonics, numeracy tools)
- Experience supporting behaviour or emotional needs
- Ability to support learning outdoors or on school trips

Limited Term Contracts: 32.50 hour vacancy - 6 months; 16.25 hour vacancy - 12 months.
