Job Purpose: Work at the centre of Government supporting senior managers with Crown and Elections duties, helping keep the electoral register accurate and supporting the smooth running of elections and official appointments.  

Duties  
- Help maintain and update the electoral register and related databases to keep records accurate.
- Support the organisation and delivery of elections and by-elections.
- Assist with Crown appointments and keep records up to date.
- Help organise official processes such as swearing-in ceremonies.
- Act as a first point of contact for enquiries from the public, politicians and departments.
- Provide finance and admin support for the team, following regulations.
- Support meetings, including note taking and general admin.
- Help train or guide new staff and support work experience students.
- Work flexibly on tasks set by managers and support wider team priorities.
- Follow Government policies, including health and safety and confidentiality.

Essential Skills
- Confident using IT, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisation, time management and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to use your own initiative.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing tasks.
- Able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Isle of Man Worker.

Desirable Skills
- Experience working in an office or dealing with the public.
- Experience writing reports or carrying out research.
- Ability to learn new information quickly.
- Note-taking skills.
- Knowledge of Government processes or structure.
- Experience working with senior staff or politicians.
- Awareness of the electoral process.
- Knowledge of financial procedures.
- Problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
