Role Summary: Support civil court operations by processing legal documents, preparing for court hearings, assisting judges in court, and providing procedural guidance to court users. The role involves both administrative and courtroom duties.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process new claims, applications, and correspondence in line with court rules.
- Clerk civil and family court hearings: manage courtrooms, support judges, administer oaths, and call witnesses.
- Draft and issue standard and complex legal correspondence.
- Check, seal, and distribute court orders and judgments.
- Provide guidance to the public and legal professionals on court procedures.
- Maintain records, post logs, and statistical information.
- Support team projects and provide cover for other court sections.
- Participate in an out-of-hours rota for evening/weekend sittings.

Essential Skills and Qualities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Organised with good time management skills.
- Able to work independently and use initiative.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive situations.
- Confident with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Reliable, calm under pressure, and maintains confidentiality.
- Physically capable of moving court files and archive boxes.

Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a legal or regulatory environment.
- Able to interpret legislation and court rules.
- Experience handling formal communications with the public or professionals.
- Teamwork in an office setting.
- 5 GCSEs including English (Grade C or above).
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends and undergo a police check.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
