Job Purpose: Support the Commercial Development Team by providing administration support for Manx Care’s Private Healthcare services. You will help with patient bookings, payments, invoices, communication and day-to-day operations to make sure patients receive an excellent customer service experience. You will also support income growth and help maintain accurate records and systems.
Duties
- Arrange private hospital admissions, appointments and pre-assessments.
- Communicate with patients, consultants, medical practitioners and hospital staff.
- Take payments, issue receipts and process refunds.
- Raise invoices and support insurance claim processing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update computer systems and databases.
- Schedule private clinics, appointments and diagnostic services.
- Provide excellent customer service to private and prospective patients.
- Support the wider Commercial Development Team with administration tasks.
- Provide reception cover within the Private Patients Unit when needed.
- Work closely with finance teams to manage invoicing and outstanding payments.
- Follow confidentiality and data protection procedures at all times.
Essential Skills
- Experience working in a busy office environment.
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using computer systems and databases.
- Excellent communication skills with customers and colleagues.
- Experience dealing with members of the public in person and over the phone.
- Good organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with strong customer service skills.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
- Reliable, adaptable and approachable.
Desirable Skills
- Finance or bookkeeping qualification (NVQ Level 2 or similar).
- Experience in healthcare, NHS or private healthcare settings.
- Experience in commercial development or income generation roles.
- Knowledge of Patient Administration Systems such as Careflow, Mediviewer, ICE or Healthcode.
- Experience using financial systems such as AXAPTA.
- Ability to manage complaints and difficult situations positively.
- Isle of Man worker status.
