Job Purpose: Work as part of the Sea Terminal team to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for visitors, residents and staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the site.  

Duties: 
- Clean designated areas of the Sea Terminal, including floors, carpets, windows, doors and public areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, dust, polish and shampoo carpets as required.
- Clean toilets, showers and associated facilities.
- Empty litter bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Use cleaning machinery and equipment safely, including vacuum cleaners, scrubbers and polishing machines.
- Carry out visual safety checks on equipment before use.
- Monitor work areas and report maintenance, hygiene or health and safety concerns.
- Follow COSHH guidelines and safe working practices when using cleaning products and chemicals.
- Assist with opening and closing the site when required.
- Support site security and energy-saving initiatives.
- Help move furniture and equipment when needed.
- Provide additional cover during busy periods, events and staff absences.
- Maintain accurate records, including accident reporting and HR system updates.
- Work flexibly as part of the wider cleaning team and support other departmental sites if required.

Essential Skills
- Previous experience in a cleaning role.
- Experience using cleaning machinery and equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to achieve and maintain high cleaning standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to take pride in your work.
- Commitment to treating everyone fairly and respectfully.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Physically able to carry out cleaning duties, including standing, lifting, carrying and working with cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work with cleaning products and chemicals safely.
- Willingness to work early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
- Satisfactory Police Check.

Desirable Skills
- First Aid Certificate.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including COSHH.
- Experience prioritising workloads and managing cleaning supplies.
- Driving licence.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
