Job Purpose: Support the delivery of cancer services by coordinating Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and tracking patients throughout their cancer pathway. You will help ensure information is accurate, meetings run smoothly, and patients receive timely care through effective administration and communication.
Duties
- Organise and attend cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, providing administrative support and accurate record keeping.
- Prepare and maintain patient information for MDT discussions.
- Keep patient records up to date using cancer tracking and patient administration systems.
- Monitor patient pathways and waiting times, highlighting any delays or concerns.
- Provide accurate tracking information to managers and clinical teams when required.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, partner organisations and colleagues.
- Build positive working relationships across the Cancer Services Team and wider organisation.
- Support the training and induction of new team members.
- Provide cover for colleagues during periods of leave and assist with a variety of administrative tasks.
- Help improve processes and contribute to the smooth running of cancer services.
- Escalate issues or concerns promptly to the appropriate manager.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information responsibly.
Essential Skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.
- Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Office, and willing to learn specialist software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage changing priorities and interruptions effectively.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, trustworthy and able to build positive working relationships.

Desirable Skills
- Five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English Language and Maths.
- Experience working in an office environment.
- Experience in healthcare administration.
- Experience of accurate data entry and record management.
- Understanding of cancer terminology.
- Knowledge of the Somerset Cancer Register (SCR).
- Experience handling sensitive medical records and personal data.
- Experience taking minutes at formal meetings.
- Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with challenging customers or clients.
- Willingness to attend off-island training and conferences.
- Demonstrated interest in the health and social care sector.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
