Job Purpose: Support the efficient operation of the Isle of Man Public Transport bus and ancillary vehicle fleet by maintaining accurate engineering records, coordinating vehicle servicing and compliance schedules, and providing administrative support to the Engineering team.
Duties
- Coordinate and administer service schedules for buses, vehicles, and plant equipment.
- Record and monitor vehicle servicing, maintenance, defects, and repairs.
- Monitor vehicle compliance, including servicing and LOLER tail lift inspections.
- Produce and issue computer-generated job cards and service schedules.
- Record and monitor annual MOT certificates and prepare statistical reports.
- Maintain accurate engineering filing systems and records.
- Update and maintain the Fleet Management computer system.
- Record and maintain staff annual leave records.
- Assist with the administration of driver defect reports and update relevant databases.
- Support the purchasing and requisition process using the Fleetwave system.
- Attend relevant training as required.
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the role when required.
Essential Skills
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
- Ability to learn new computer systems.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
- Positive, adaptable, and flexible approach to work.
- Good planning and time management skills.
- Ability to make considered decisions.
- Willingness to support change and new ways of working.
- Trustworthy and reliable.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in an administrative, clerical, customer service, or office support role.
- Positive energy and enthusiasm.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
