Job Purpose: Support the hospital pharmacy team by receiving and checking medicine deliveries, updating stock records, dispensing medicines under supervision, delivering medicines to wards, and helping provide a safe and efficient pharmacy service. You will also support the Aseptic Unit and help ensure medicines are stored, handled and distributed correctly.
Duties
- Receive, check and record medicine deliveries using the pharmacy computer system.
- Resolve delivery issues with suppliers and escalate where needed.
- Dispense, label and prepare medicines under the supervision of qualified pharmacy staff.
- Hand out prescriptions and deal with routine enquiries from patients, visitors and hospital staff.
- Support the Aseptic Unit by cleaning work areas, preparing equipment and maintaining stock.
- Help manage pharmacy stock, including stock rotation, expiry date checks and replenishing ward supplies.
- Deliver medicines to hospital wards and departments.
- Keep accurate records of medicines, deliveries and stock movements.
- Assist with preparing and sending medicines to other healthcare locations.
- Help train new team members and support weekend and bank holiday rotas when required.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, pharmacy guidelines and confidentiality requirements.

- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience dealing with enquiries or difficult situations.
- Experience in a pharmacy, hospital, stock control, finance, reception or similar environment.
- Interest in developing a career in pharmacy services.
