Job Overview: Support pharmacy services by:
- Receiving and checking deliveries of medicines
- Entering stock into the pharmacy system
- Dispensing and labelling medication
- Stocking hospital wards and departments
- Assisting with aseptic (sterile) production and cleaning
- Answering queries from patients, staff, and suppliers
Key Responsibilities:
- Check and log deliveries into the pharmacy system
- Dispense medicines under supervision
- Help prepare compliance aids and take-home packs
- Deliver stock and maintain ward top-up supplies
- Support aseptic unit tasks (e.g., cleaning, stock checks)
- Answer routine queries and refer as needed
- Maintain pharmacy records and paperwork
- Assist with training new staff and weekend rota
- Follow safety, confidentiality, and data protection rules
Essential Skills & Experience:
- GCSEs including Maths & English (Grade C or above) or NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services
- Comfortable using computers
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Able to follow procedures accurately
- Team player and good communicator
- Able to work under pressure and on your own
- Willing to learn and follow safety protocols
- Physically fit (lifting, standing, moving stock)
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Customer service or patient-facing experience
- Background in pharmacy, stock control, or admin work
- Experience dealing with difficult queries
- Self-motivated and keen to develop
