Job Purpose: Join our Adult Learning Disability Services Talent Pool and help support adults with learning disabilities to live independent, fulfilling lives. You will work in either day services or residential settings, focusing on building skills, confidence and choice through person-centred support.
There are two main types of role:
* Day Support Worker
* Residential Support Worker
Duties
- Support individuals to develop independence, confidence and life skills through daily activities and routines
- Provide person-centred care, always promoting dignity, respect and choice
- Encourage social interaction, community involvement and meaningful activities
- Support with daily living tasks such as cooking, budgeting and household routines
- Provide personal care (residential roles) in a safe and respectful way
- Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and individual goals
- Work as part of a supportive team to deliver high-quality care
Essential Skills
- Passion for supporting people and making a positive difference
- Caring, patient and respectful approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, professional and committed attitude
- Ability to support independence and encourage choice
- Willingness to complete QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (if not already achieved)
Desirable skills
- Previous experience in care or support work
- Understanding of learning disabilities and person-centred care
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs
- Confidence working in community or residential environments
- Ability to use initiative and problem solve
