Job Purpose: Support the Passport, Immigration and Nationality team to deliver an efficient and friendly service by processing applications, handling enquiries and completing admin tasks in line with policies and legislation.
Duties
- Process passport, immigration and nationality applications following set policies and legislation
- Check documents and confirm eligibility for passports and citizenship
- Handle applications at the counter, by post and online systems
- Speak with customers in person, on the phone and by email to answer queries
- Interview first-time adult passport applicants
- Complete admin tasks such as updating systems, filing and record keeping
- Take payments, balance daily transactions and support banking processes
- Support citizenship applications, including contacting referees and arranging ceremonies
- Assist immigration team with files, enquiries and general support tasks
- Attend airport or port for immigration duties when required (including some evenings/weekends)
- Help with emergency passport applications when needed
- Work closely with other teams and external organisations
- Follow all data protection, security and confidentiality rules
Essential Skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

- Confident using computers and Microsoft Office
