Job Purpose: Provide administrative support to the Isle of Man Constabulary’s Operational Support Group, mainly supporting the Alcohol Unit, with additional support to Roads Policing and Firearms Licensing when required. You will help process licence applications, maintain police records and databases, support Licensing Court administration and deal with enquiries from the public and other organisations.  

Duties  
- Process applications, renewals and other paperwork relating to liquor and public entertainment licensing.
- Prepare paperwork for Licensing Court hearings, including applications, agendas, court bundles, minutes, licences and court orders.
- Maintain accurate information on police IT systems and licensing databases.
- Update online licensing registers, SharePoint systems and other electronic records.
- Process Licensing Court outcomes and notify the relevant people and organisations.
- Carry out administrative checks on applications and highlight anything requiring further investigation.
- Prepare and submit basic intelligence reports following police procedures.
- Maintain confidential electronic and paper filing systems.
- Process payments and maintain accurate financial records.
- Produce statistics, management information and performance data.
- Respond to telephone and email enquiries from licence holders, applicants, legal representatives, Government departments and members of the public.
- Manage shared inboxes and ensure correspondence is dealt with promptly.
- Provide administrative support to Alcohol Unit officers.
- Support Roads Policing with vehicle seizure records, databases, enquiries and administration for major events such as the TT and MGP.
- Support Firearms Licensing during busy periods or staff absence, including processing applications and supporting vetting and enquiries.
- Help improve administrative processes and make effective use of technology.

Essential Skills  
- Good knowledge of general administrative duties.
- Ability and willingness to learn about the work of the department.
- Able to handle highly confidential personal and police information with integrity.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to balance your workload.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and willingness to learn other IT systems.
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Confident, positive and energetic approach to work.
- Able to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
- Satisfactory police check.
- Satisfactory security clearance.

Desirable Skills  
- Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, including English Language.
- Relevant experience working in a small, busy office.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to producing high-quality work while managing a busy workload.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
