Job Purpose: Provide administrative support within the Public Law Division of the Attorney General’s Chambers, with a particular focus on Mental Health Financial Management (MHFM). You will help manage the financial affairs of clients who lack capacity, as well as providing general administrative support across the Division.
Duties
- Prepare formal Letters of Direction for signature.
- Maintain accurate cash flow records for individual cases.
- Complete and submit annual Income Tax Returns.
- Review bank statements and reconcile them against cash flow records.
- Prepare correspondence to banks and liaise with them when required.
- Prepare letters and cheques for approval and signature.
- Arrange payments on behalf of clients.
- Complete benefit applications and liaise with Social Security.
- Liaise with Social Services and other organisations providing care or support to clients.
- Maintain accurate client files and records using the practice management system.
- Scan, archive and securely dispose of records when required.
- Deal with confidential and sensitive information professionally.
- Support the public counter, answering enquiries and greeting visitors.
- Answer telephone and email enquiries.
- Process and prepare documentation and correspondence.
- Provide administrative support to the Charities team and Crown Officers when required.
- Carry out general administrative duties including photocopying, scanning and printing.
- Deliver correspondence to local legal practices, courts, banks or other organisations when required.

Desirable Skills
- Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including Maths, or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a financial environment with basic accounting or bookkeeping knowledge.
- Experience implementing and reviewing administrative processes.
- Previous experience in a financial, compliance or similar role within a regulatory environment.
- Experience using a case management system.
- Experience working on a reception desk or public counter.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
