Job Purpose: Provide administrative support to the Government Analyst Laboratory by acting as the first point of contact for customers, processing samples for testing, managing records and financial administration, and helping ensure the laboratory operates efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.  

Duties
- Receive samples for testing and ensure they are correctly recorded and distributed.
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from Government departments, businesses and members of the public.
- Provide information and guidance within agreed procedures and refer technical enquiries where appropriate.
- Maintain paper and electronic filing systems, ensuring records are stored and disposed of correctly.
- Use Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), databases and spreadsheets to process information accurately.
- Transfer data between different computer systems.
- Process purchase orders, invoices and accounts records in line with Government Financial Regulations.
- Prepare customer invoices and process supplier invoices for payment.
- Receive and send mail, deliveries and other goods.
- Monitor and order stationery and office supplies.
- Manage petty cash and Government charge cards.
- Help develop office procedures and ensure compliance with the Laboratory's Quality System.
- Open and secure the office when required and carry out other administrative duties to support the team.

Desirable Skills
- English Language GCSE Grade 4/C or above.
- Numeracy skills suitable for an office environment.
- Previous office administration or customer service experience.
- Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or similar databases.
- Full valid driving licence.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
- Satisfactory Police Check.
