Job Purpose: Support the Risk and Control Team within Treasury by helping manage financial systems, improve balance sheet controls, and ensure accurate financial records across Government.
Duties
- Reconcile Government bank accounts and balance sheet codes regularly
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding financial items
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports
- Support production of annual accounts and audit processes
- Monitor purchase and sales ledgers to keep records accurate and up to date
- Work with different departments to clear aged financial items
- Assist with tracking expenditure and financial controls (e.g. insurance, petty cash)
- Upload and allocate transactions (e.g. purchase cards, Worldpay)
- Create and maintain clear process notes for financial tasks
- Provide data and reports to senior managers
- Contribute to improving systems and making processes more efficient
- Take part in training and ongoing development

- Experience in financial analysis or reporting
- Knowledge of risk management or financial governance
- Experience producing management information
- Understanding of financial planning or accounts production
- Ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
- Confidence working with a range of people at different levels
