Job Purpose: Support the smooth running of Ballakermeen High School by providing administrative, reception, reprographics, and general office support. Work as part of the central services team to deliver an efficient, friendly, and professional service for students, staff, parents, and visitors.
Duties
- Provide reception support, dealing with telephone, email, and visitor enquiries professionally.
- Manage incoming and outgoing post.
- Carry out reprographics duties including printing, photocopying, laminating, and scanning.
- Support staff and students with learning resources and basic IT assistance, including password resets.
- Use the school's information systems to input data, produce reports, and prepare documents.
- Produce and proofread documents using Microsoft Office and school systems.
- Maintain stocks of stationery, school ties, badges, and other resources.
- Assist with the organisation and preparation of school events and trips.
- Provide general office and administrative support, including finance administration tasks.
- Support students in the library and during educational visits and activities.
- Provide first aid after completing appropriate training.
- Assist other school departments when required, including attendance, examinations, classrooms, canteen, and school office.
- Provide cover for absent colleagues when needed.
- Care for school equipment and resources used in the role.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, financial, and data protection procedures at all times.

Desirable Skills
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications.
- Experience in an office administration or support role managing a busy workload.
- Experience working in a secondary school environment.
- Experience using computerised office systems, printers, photocopiers, and scanners.
- Willingness to undertake First Aid training.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to suggest improvements to systems and processes.
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Isle of Man Worker status.
