Cashier
The primary responsibility of a cashier is to take payments from customers but they may be required to perform other duties.
Day-to-Day tasks
- operating the till, scanning items and taking payments
- helping customers at self-service checkouts
- learning about the layout of the store and helping customers with queries
- provide excellent customer service
- using simple mental mathematics to issue change
- able to process card payments
Industry Qualifications
Employers will have their own set requirements although usually you are not required to hold a specific qualification in cashiering.
